La pieza, que se concibió y realizó durante una residencia en el centro de arte MeetFactory (Praga), parte del sincretismo de las creencias populares de Canarias para explorar las relaciones entre agentes humanos y más-que-humanos, enfocándose en entidades consideradas inanimadas desde la perspectiva occidental. Es en el cruce entre el pensamiento contemporáneo sobre lo más que humano y las experiencias de conciencia alterada del propio artista - creación artística, sueño, contemplación, meditación, trance - donde emerge una reivindicación de formas renovadas de animismo que desafíen la explotación de los recursos naturales y la degradación de los ecosistemas.
La obra se construye en diálogo con los trabajos desarrollados por artistas presentes en la misma residencia. Una selección de textos de Isabelle Stengers, Ursula K. Le Guin, Vinciane Despret, Baptiste Morizot, Ailton Krenak, entre otras, acompaña la pieza en su versión instalativa.
Conceived and made during a residency at the art center MeetFactory (Prague), the piece draws on the syncretism of popular beliefs from the Canary Islands to explore the relationships between human and more-than-human agents, focusing on entities considered inanimate from a Western perspective. It is at the crossing between contemporary thought on the more-than-human and the artist's own experiences of altered consciousness - artistic creation, sleep, contemplation, meditation, trance - that a reclaiming of renewed forms of animism emerges, challenging the exploitation of natural resources and the degradation of ecosystems.
The work is built in dialogue with the artworks developed by artists present at the same residency. A selection of texts by Isabelle Stengers, Ursula K. Le Guin, Vinciane Despret, Baptiste Morizot, and Ailton Krenak, among others, accompanies the piece in its installation version.
