"Migrar a una isla efímera" es un retrato de una vida rural idealizada, pero no menos dura, en la Canarias del siglo XX. Está profundamente inspirada en las historias contadas por mis abuelas, cuyas narrativas forman la base de la pieza.
La isla efímera representada en la película ofrece un territorio al que migrar, aunque no se trata de un lugar fijo y permanente sino uno que aparece y desaparece, fugaz y elusivo, tanto cercano como inalcanzable, pero siempre presente en la conciencia colectiva. Esta isla encarna la posibilidad de un lugar imaginario al que escapar, pero que nunca está realmente lejos de casa.

'Migrar a una isla efímera' (To Migrate to an Ephemeral Island) is a portrayal of an idealized yet no less harsh rural life in the Canary Islands during the 20th century. It is deeply inspired by the stories told by my grandmothers, whose narratives form the foundation of the film.
The ephemeral island depicted in the film offers a territory to migrate to, but it is not a fixed, permanent place. Instead, it is one that appears and disappears, fleeting and elusive, both close and unreachable, yet always present in the collective consciousness. This island embodies the possibility of an imaginary place to escape to, but one that is never truly far from home.
