Recibí el Global Slavery History Fellowship, una iniciativa que me permitió colaborar con diferentes instituciones y museos: International Institute of Social History, Rijksmuseum (Museo Nacional de Ámsterdam), Amsterdam Museum, Allard Pierson Museum, Stadsarchief Amsterdam (Archivos de la Ciudad de Amsterdam), UvA - Universidad de Amsterdam.
Durante mi estancia en Ámsterdam, tuve la oportunidad de investigar el papel que desempeñó Países Bajos en la historia de esclavitud de Canarias. Al mismo tiempo, experimenté en la construcción de nuevas formas de narrativas. ‘Fortunatæ’, mi ensayo audiovisual performativo, entremezcla una variedad de obras de arte, materia de archivo, así como otros documentos históricos.
Actualmente, a través de la página web del International Institute of Social History puede visionarse una versión en inglés de la pieza audiovisual. Esta última versión incorpora la acción performativa en un formato textual, ya que el aspecto oral de la pieza estaba destinado a ser presentado exclusivamente en directo.
I was granted the Global Slavery History Fellowship, an initiative that allowed me to collaborate with the International Institute of Social History, the Rijksmuseum, the Amsterdam Museum, the Allard Pierson Museum, the Stadsarchief Amsterdam (City Archives of Amsterdam) and the UvA - University of Amsterdam.
During my stay in Amsterdam, I was able to conduct research on the involvement of the Netherlands in the history of slavery in the Canary Islands while experimenting in the construction of new forms of narratives. In ‘Fortunatæ’, my final performative audiovisual essay, I intertwined a variety of artworks, archival materials, and other historical documents.
A version in English of the audiovisual piece is currently on the website of the International Institute of Social History. This latest version incorporates the performative action in a textual format, as the spoken aspect was intended to be exclusively presented live.
